Yes, Pressure-Mounted gates like our Extra Wide Easy Fit Pet Gate can be installed on stairs - but there are a few important precautions to keep in mind to ensure safe and secure installation.
Before installing on stairs, review the examples and recommendations in our online installation guide located on the Product Listing Page under the Installation Tab. This will help you identify the safest setup for your home.
Key Considerations
Always install the gate so that it opens away from the stairs (never over a downward drop).
If mounting to banisters or spindles, you may require additional hardware or a banister adapter kit.
TOP OF STAIRS
If safety barrier is used at top of the stairs, it should not be positioned below the top level.
Note: Ensure gate is mounted minimum 25cm / 10" from top step tread.
MIDDLE OF STAIRS CAUTION:
Do not mount anywhere other than top tread or lowest tread.
