Cat Flap - Installation - Can I Install It Into A Screen Door?

Modified on Thu, 8 May at 3:00 PM

Yes, the Cat Flap is suitable for installation into doors, walls, screens, and glass up to 50mm (2") thick

Note: If installing into a sliding door, ensure there is enough clearance for the door to operate normally. The inner frame of the Cat Flap protrudes 15mm (0.59"). The outer frame protrudes 7mm (0.28").

Important Notes for Screen Door Installations:

  • Acrylic Mesh Flyscreen Doors:
Installing the Cat Flap onto acrylic mesh flyscreens is not recommended. The mesh does not have enough strength to support the weight of the door. Additional reinforcement would be needed to prevent tearing or damage.

  • Metal Screen Doors:
Power tools are also required when installing into metal screen doors.
